Corellian Engineering Corporation
Corellian Engineering Corporation (located in the
Corellia system) is one of the largest and oldest ship
manufacturers. The company primarily produces civilian
vessels, although it occasionally builds specialized
warships for markets not given attention by Kuat Drive Yards
and similar corporations. Its ships (civilian or otherwise)
range in size from a few meters to several kilometers,
depending on the application. Nonetheless, CEC is best known
for its moderately-armed, easily-modified freighters.
Corellian
Starships: A Family Resemblance lists more ships that
were probably designed or manufactured by CEC.
Action V Transport
|
CEC's Action series of transports is one of the
smaller types of bulk freighters; these ships carry
only a fraction of the cargo of other such
freighters. However, as a result, Action transports
are very inexpensive, and can be found throughout
the galaxy in the ownership of private individuals
and freelance traders. The Action V is the most
popular of the series; it is old enough that it is
already as widespread as its predecessors, but new
enough that it has not yet been rendered outdated.

Action VI Transport
|
Like all ships in the Action series from CEC,
the Action VI is small, inexpensive, and unarmed.
It is slightly newer, larger, and has a faster
hyperdrive than the Action V, but is otherwise
identical to the earlier ship.

Barloz-class Freighter
|
The Barloz-class shares its design elements with
most CEC freighters (such as the YT series), but
features several characteristics not usually found
on ships from this company (at least not ships the
size). It has a triangular instead of saucer-shaped
hull, but retains circular docking rings and a
cylindrical command pod (which is centrally located
instead of attached to the starboard side). The
Barloz also has a dish-shaped sensor and is
(lightly) armed.
The statistics listed here
are interpolated from those of the Lady
Sunfire.

Corellian Corvette
|
The CR90 was originally designed to be a
well-armed, easily modifiable transport (in the
tradition of previous CEC ships), although it's
more of a lightly-armed warship. Indeed, it fits
the classic role of a corvette: in addition to
being lightly armed, the CR90 is small and fast. As
a result, pirate and mercenary organizations often
used these ships, along with planetary defense
forces and other small militaries (including the
Alliance).
According to West End
Games, Corellian Corvettes carry six double
turbolasers. The various Corvettes seen in the
movies and shown elsewhere have no such weapons,
although the nature of this ship probably does
allow modification to such a configuration. In any
case, I have interpreted the weapons on the
standard Corvette as being two turbolasers and four
laser cannons.

Corellian Gunship
|
The Corellian Gunship is one of the few
dedicated warships designed and manufactured by the
Corellian Engineering Corporation. It is relatively
small, but carries a formidable amount of weaponry;
this ship could easily win a battle against a
vessel twice its size. However, as a result, there
is little space on board for cargo or extra
equipment, unlike most CEC ships.

HLAF-500
|
The HLAF(Heavy/Light Attack Fighter)-500 is an
upgraded version of the LAF-250. Its engines and
weapons have been upgraded considerably to benefit
the major application of the fighter (policing and
anti-pirate duties).

LAF-250
|
CEC designed the LAF(Light Attack Fighter)-250
primarily to combat pirates, a constant threat in
the Corellian system. These fighters are small,
maneuverable, and capable of long patrols, although
in combat their light weaponry and slow speed pose
a serious problem. Eventually, the company
introduced the HLAF-500 to resolve these
shortcomings.

Mynock-class Assault Boat
|
The Mynock-class Assault Boat, another of CEC's
few military designs, is similar to assault
shuttles used by the Empire (such as the
Gamma-class). However, this ship was built with
ground-based battle in mind; it usually carries or
supplements infantry. Nonetheless, the Mynock is
still capable of space travel and combat, and can
be used in that capacity if necessary.

YT-1300
|
The YT-1300 is a typical example of CEC's
freighters. It includes a circular hull, a
starboard-mounted command pod, and light armament.
In addition, these ships also have front-mounted
mandibles used for external cargo transportation (a
feature not found on most CEC freighters).
The ILM sublight value is
interpolated from the Millennium Falcon's. Also,
the length of the YT-1300 is not 26.7 meters, as
reported by West End Games; see the link below for
more info.

YT-2400
|
The YT-2400 is similar to other YT-series ships
from Corellian Engineering Corporation, featuring a
saucer-shaped hull and a starboard-mounted command
pod. However, unlike other YT-series ships, the
YT-2400 is not meant to be exclusively a freighter.
Stock 2400s are well-armed directly from the
factory, and, like most CEC-built ships, can be
modified to hold even more weapons. Thus, the
design is favored by mercenaries and smugglers, or
anyone else who needs a well-armed "transport."

YV-666
|
The YV-666 has almost nothing in common with
other Corellian Engineering Corporation light
freighters. These ships are considerably larger,
are box-shaped, and have wings (probably for
atmospheric travel). Thus, the YV-666 may have been
designed by a different company, and is only
manufactured by CEC.
Unfortunately, we do not
know the specifications of the stock YV-666. These
ships are probably at least 50-60m long, since the
Hound's Tooth is capable of carrying a scout
vessel.
