Star Wars Ships and Vehicles

 Other Ships

720 Freighter

Although its manufacturer went bankrupt, the sturdy 720 freighter remained in use for several years. They were often used as low-cost alternatives to newer vessels.

A-wing

Designed by Alliance General Jan Dodonna and Victory-class designer Walex Blissex, the A-wing was among the fastest starfighters in use at the time of the Battle of Endor. The fighter is especially compact, allowing for excellent excelleration and maneuverability, but this leaves its internal systems especially vulnerable. In addition to lasers, A-wings have sensor jammers and are often equipped with missile launchers.

According to X-Wing: The Bacta War, A-wings were not mass-produced, but rather built individually at different locations, leading to minor variations in each fighter. The New Republic might have set up A-wing factories later on, however.

Some sources say that the A-wing was designed in response to the Battle of Yavin, but the X-wing books state that Dodonna was captured just after that battle.

Armadia-class Thrustship

In addition to Imperial-designed ships, these spherical vessels are the primary Yevethan warships. They carry a variety of weapons, and seem to be based on a generations-old transport design.

These ships are called Armadia-class by the New Republic, but it's not known if this is the true Yevethan designation, or simply based on the name of the ship that first travelled to Coruscant.

B-wing

The B-wing is a heavy fighter, carrying a variety of weapons for tasks ranging from capital ship assualt to anti-infantry attacks. It was designed by a group of Verpines (who would later form a warship manufacturing company) under the direction of the famous Admiral Ackbar (then a Commander). Some newer versions of the B-wing have room for an extra passenger or gunner, and better engines.

Carrack-class Light Cruiser

The Carrack's non-standard design makes it effective in certain combat situations where regular warships would otherwise be used. Carracks are very durable due to a reinforced and compartmentalized internal design, and their above-average acceleration allows them to fare better against fighters than most larger ships.

D-type Starfighter

This fighter design is comparable to most similar craft, but is best suited to Yevethan physiology.

The term "D-type" is a New Republic nickname.

E-wing

The designers of the E-wing were also responsible for the X-wing, and it shows in the fighter's structure; the former is somewhat like a scaled-down version of the latter. E-wings are more compact, but a greater power output allows them better acceleration and more effective weapons.

Gallofree Transport

These are standard transports, composed of an outer hull and command pod with internal space that accomodates modules for carrying materials, equipment, or passengers. They are used throughout the galaxy, but do not really stand out among more specialised ships.

Poranji Orbital Jumper

Orbital jumpers are small, short-range ships intended for travel from planets to other planets or space stations within a star system.
