The Republic Engineering Corporation was founded to
produce specialty vessels for the New Republic, which had
allocated most of the galaxy's existing warships to
individual planets.
Cracken's Threat Dossier has information on REC-built
warships, but it is contradicted in many places with details
supplied by the author of the Black Fleet Crisis books; it
is thus assumed to be invalid.
This table lists the known warships originating at REC.
Ships with identical lengths share a common design, although
their appearance is not known at this time.

Agave-class Picket Ship
|
As a "picket ship," the Agave is most likely
used to patrol borders or act as a support ship.
|
Warrior-class Gunship
|
The Warrior-class probably trades the long-range
operation capabilities of the Agave for better
weaponry.

|
Hajen-class Fleet Tender
|
Tenders usually carry supplies and repair
materials when away from a base or port; the Hajen
presumably serves in this role.
|
Sacheen-class Escort
|
The Sacheen might be a larger support or
anti-fighter vessel.

|
Defender-class Assault Carrier
|
The "assault carrier" designation for this ship
might imply that both the fighters and the ship
itself engage a given target (as opposed to just
the fighters themselves, as in a traditional
carrier role).
|
Majestic-class Heavy Cruiser
|
This "heavy cruiser" is barely destroyer-sized,
but probably serves in the same role as a cruiser
in the relatively small new Republic fleet. The
fighter capacity of this class is probably less
than the Defender; in its place could be heavy
weapons or other structures.

|
Endurance-class Fleet Carrier
|
The Endurance-class is most likely a traditional
carrier, with both command facilities and extensive
fighter bays.
|
Nebula-class Star Destroyer
|
The Nebula seems out-of-place here; although
larger than the "cruisers" and "carriers," these
ships are called "destroyers." This might mean that
Nebula-class ships are usually deployed to the
larger regional and sector fleets, where the
baseline ship sizes are much larger.
